BATHROOM DESIGN REMODEL with
Travertine Tile Installation

The bathroom remodel project to the right was started
by the homeowner who later realized he was over his
head with the bathroom remodeling project and the
remodel problems that presented itself.

Although he had torn out the wall tile and carpet the
terrazzo shower pan was difficult to remove. Once we
were hired our tile installer removed the pan which also
revealed severe water damage to the existing sub-floor.

With the bathroom sub-floor repaired the
bathroom
design for this remodel called for a curbless shower or
shower stall without a shower dam/curb.

Schluter/Kerdi shower pan system allowed for the
shower design which included the shower floor to slope
to the shower drain. The entire bathroom floor and walls
were waterproofed using this shower system.

The homeowner installed a narrow glass panel about 20
inches in width not to extend beyond the front of the toilet.
No shower door was installed.

Travertine 12x12 tile was used for the tile installation on
the shower walls and wainscot with 1 inch travertine
sheet tiles installed as a decorative tile liner.

The shower pan/bathroom floor was set in a
Mini-versailles tile pattern which also is a sheet
travertine tile.
The entire bathroom was then sealed with a natural stone
impregnator when the grout had fully cured.

and wanted to incorporate in the
new shower tile installation
design project.
