BATHROOM TILE DESIGN
WALL TILES:
Finding the right tile for your bathroom
remodeling project can be challenging. This
bathroom design takes into consideration the
space, tile patterns and flooring that contributed
to the remodeling ideas that I had in mind.
In speaking with my client it was clear to me
that the homeowner wanted his master
bathroom to be filled with light and he definitely
wanted tile to be the main focus in designing his
bathroom.
I wanted to incorporate mosaic glass tiles and
also bring in the natural elements by using
natural stone tiles and granite slab for the
bathroom vanity.
Our selection of Bottocino tumbled marble tile
for the tub deck and face, shower walls and
tiled wainscot was at first hard for the
homeowner to picture but as the tile job
progressed he was delighted with the
outcome.
We complimented the marble in the shower with
river rock on one wall and on the shower pan.
For the shower wall tile and wainscot the
tumbled marble is a subway tile set in a straight
grid pattern.

MASTER BATHROOM TUB/MARBLE TILE
For the tub tile 12x12 tumbled marble on the deck
and face with contemporary chrome plumbing
fixtues and european frameless shower door
enclosure along with jade glass mosaic tile on the
recess display shelf proved to be the inviting and
relaxing setting that this homeowner was looking
to achieve.
Tile was grouted using CUSTOM sanded grout with
sanded caulking around the tub and where the
horizontal and vertical surfaces meet. All tile and
grout was sealed using a natural stone
impregnator and enhancer.

DENSE SHIELD tile backer board. The tub deck and
recess shampoo shelf used 1/4 inch durrock cement
board and was water proofed using CUSTOM'S RED
GUARD liquid membrane.
Tile mastic was not used for laying tile . Thinset
designed for glass tile and another type for marble
tile was used for wall tiles and ceiling tile.
Walls and tub face were installed using 1/2 inch
